Cookie Policy

Version 1 · in effect since October 3, 2026

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. SailingCyber uses a few, and stores some settings in your browser's local storage. This policy lists them and explains your choices.

Your choices

When you first visit, we ask which optional cookies you allow. Rejecting them is as easy as accepting them, and SailingCyber works either way. You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings in the footer. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser, though signing in needs the necessary ones.

Analytics cookies

We do not use analytics cookies at the moment. If we add them, they will only be set if you allow analytics in Cookie settings.

Information stored in your browser

Some features save settings in your browser's local storage rather than in cookies. It stays on your device and is not sent to us with every request:

  • your theme (light or dark) and the last way you signed in;
  • how far you are through the welcome tour, a practice session, the career quiz or a RouteFinder draft, so you can pick up where you left off;
  • which parts of your plan and crew feed you have already seen, and whether you dismissed a reminder.

Other companies' cookies

Some pages include services from other companies, which may set their own cookies under their own policies:

  • embedded YouTube and Vimeo videos;
  • Stripe, on its checkout and payment pages;
  • Jitsi, when you join a meeting;
  • Google or LinkedIn, when you sign in with them.

Changes

If we change how we use cookies in a way that needs your permission again, we will ask you again.
